Road running and book clubs

So I think I’m going to run on some roads to train for TNF 50 in December.  Bleaugh and bleaugh.  The hills on the trails here are a bit too rocky to be helpful — I think.  I am really gun-shy about running on pavement.  (Please don’t get inflamed again little foot!  All rocky trails, all the time after December 4th, I promise.)  Maybe I’ll toss in another icing session those days.  Bleaugh and bleaugh.

Did I tell you I got the nice little book group I’m in to read “Born to Run“?  I’m the only long distance runner in the group, so I feel a built guilty for foisting it on them, (Yeah, hi, I’m an entomologist and I thought we’d all really enjoy this book about arthropods.), but it seemed like it’d be a fun read even if you aren’t a running whacko.  I guess we’ll find out.  My goal is to not sound totally deranged or giddy when we’re talking about it.  (K., give me a signal if I start to sound unbalanced or make a move to pull out a belt buckle.)

The caffeine is slow to take effect this morning, so I’ll leave off for now.  Hope you all have a great day today.

You are welcome to mention that someone in your running group practices the primative form of running mentioned in the book.

    No guilt allowed 🙂
