A friend asked yesterday if I felt pressure to come up with something to post everyday. Nope. I wake up every morning pleased that I get to share the minutiae of my wildly disorganized day with you. Writing it all down highlights the ridiculous in my whole balancing act. And, ultimately, I end up feeling a lot less crazy — or at least justifiably crazed — by the time I stop writing. And, of course, it’s super nice to chat with folks over coffee about running and such — especially when I don’t have to tidy up the house — or myself–for you. (The eyebrows are wild right now people.) It’s only when I have something meaty to write about that I have flashbacks to excruciating paper writing sessions as an undergrad history major.
Anyway! Here’s your daily dose of minutiae: Eliot, Asa, and I all slept in my mother in-law’s queen-sized bed last night. (She was in a special bed in the living room for her knee.). And the amount of sleep we each got is inversely proportional to our heights. Poor 6’2 husband. So I’m going to stop typing now and spell him from the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed three year-old — who has him cornered with a Ninja Lego guy in one hand and a dog leash in the other.
Oh, and P.S., I do have something meaty to tell you. Hopefully Monday. Very exciting!! (No, Mom, I’m not pregnant.)
