It’s 11pm and I’m sitting in the Dallas airport. We just got off the plane that was supposed to take us to Albuquerque because one of the window deicers wasn’t working. This was known before we boarded, while we boarded, and for the twenty minutes we sat on the plane waiting to take off. There are lots of young soldiers on the flight, and they’ve set a tone of imperturbability. No swearing or lobbing Cinnabons at the flight attendants or crew anyway.
I figured I’d go ahead and write a post now since I’ll be fairly worthless tomorrow — what with the few hours of sleep, the teaching all day, and the long run afterwards. Whiiiiine.
But now I can’t think of anything to write about besides leg room, and I just found out that all the soldiers are on four days leave before they deploy — so the whining isn’t fun anymore either. So I’ll just ask that you send healthy heart thoughts my dad’s way for the next few days.
